Naisbitt, Nana, and Douglas Philips. High Tech High Touch. New York: Broadwa Books, 1999. Print.
The writers main points is that the world in a "Technologically intoxicated zone," there is too much technology in the world and we are drowning in it. The writer takes three different viewpoints of this theme, one from himself, his daughter and another individual on the ideas that technology is intoxicating us.
Quotes found on page 74
"In the mid 1980s, according to Schwarzkopf, the military turned instead to computer simulation."
"An entire war was fought on the computers."
These quotes are useful to show how technology can prepare the Army and other branches of Defense so that when the time comes to battle, the necessary people are prepared and well trained. With the use of computer training, many scenarios can be put into the training.
This source can tie in with my other sources to provide an arguement in favor of technology. Some of the sources that I have selected show how technology has a negative effect. I want to be able to show both sides of the story and do research to show if technolgy has mad things easier or harder.
I plan to use this source to answer the question of "what does technology do for us" I have been wondering about this question and want to find the answer. I will do research and find examples of both. I fell that if i get information on both sides (pro/con) of technology I can provide a good arguement.
The source will provide a credible aproach to how technology effects society. I came across this source because it has the same type of topic as other sources I have used. It is a book about technology and the effects it has had on society.
This source connects with my other sources because it shares the same theme. All of the sources are tied together. They all break down types of technology and how they effect people.
